Beautify Rumford Posts Events, Seeks Volunteers

Beautify Rumford, a division of Envision Rumford, has posted their spring events. On June 6th at 8am they will be meeting behind the Rumford Municipal Building to begin transforming our downtown streets with beautiful plants. On June 13th, they will be beautifying Veteran’s Park at the bottom of Congress St. This is a great time for the community to come together, meet new people, and have a positive impact on our community. Participants should bring tools, gloves and a positive attitude

Horse Show Managers

Ellis River Riders, Inc.
April 26 at 7:48 PM ·
It is Tuesday the 26th, that means our show managers deadline is only 4 days away. As of right now we only have enough managers to hold our versatility trail challenges, open shows and 2 game shows. The rest will be cancelled for the year, that means only those showing in versatility, open and leadline & walk-trot games will qualify for year end awards. If you are interested in qualifying in gymkhana or jackpot we need managers. The shows can’t go on with no volunteers.
Shout out to Pam Tobin, Mary Thacker & Deborah Cayer for volunteering to be show managers for the 2022 season so far.

Boulders, Berms, + BBQ 2022: Rumford Bike Trail Build

Rumford Bike Trail Build by Inland Woods + Trails

For this project, volunteers will meet at the Pennacook Area Community Trails trail-head at Mountain Valley High School and will be using loppers and pocket saws to cut open the corridor for a new bike trail that will be machine built later on in the summer, and picking up/raking away debris from a recent harvest that occurred last year in the area that the trail is being built in. Bringing your own rakes, loppers and cutting equipment is encouraged! We have a limited amount of each.sign up by using this link: https://signup.com/go/WKScrtN

WMPF 91.1 FM

WMPF is seeking individuals who live in the River Valley Region or have ties to the River Valley Region who would be interested in being part of the growth of a community radio station with an operating budget under $5,000 per year. Assistance is needed in a number of areas including information gathering and announcing, music library maintenance, and public outreach. Some items can be done from home on your own computer, others may require you to be at our new studio at 100 Congress St in Rumford. We will soon be looking for individuals to do specialty radio shows and announce between songs, but we need to establish policies and infrastructure before that can occur. If you are interested in participating, you can message us on-Facebook, email [email protected] or call 207-619-4672 and leave a message.
